Full Moon in Taurus
The Full Moon will be exact on Friday, November 15th 2024, at 4:29pm Eastern Standard Time. The Sun will be at 24 degrees Scorpio and the moon at 24 degrees Taurus.
This Full Moon is also conjunct (right next to) Uranus, the planet of change, rebellion, and great awakening. When planets are right next to each other, it amplifies their energies. With Uranus involved, it’s going to add an “expect the unexpected” element to the mix.
In addition, Saturn also goes direct in Pisces at 8:09am EST the same day as the Full Moon.
So there’s a lot of energy happening here. This Full Moon is asking us where are we holding onto our comfort zones and how can we release old patterns, mindsets, relationships, hobbies, or anything else that’s keeping us from evolving. We cannot grow in our comfort zones. It’s also helping us release any blocks around our authenticity, personal expression, and individuality.
The lunar energy at this time can be chaotic, unpredictable, and exciting. There could be big shake ups in both positive and seemingly negative ways. Anything perceived as negative is helping us grow or redirect for our benefit.
This Full Moon is on the Scorpio x Taurus axis. Transformation vs. Stability. It’s finding a balance between letting go of the things we think we need to feel secure materially to find true security on an emotional and spiritual level. Where do we need to transform in order to find the security we’re seeking?
The Sun and Moon are in opposing signs, creating a slight friction between our conscious mind, the sun, and our unconscious mind, the moon. This is what creates the notorious chaotic Full Moon energy. With the friction created by our conscious and unconscious, it shines a light on where things are not in alignment so that we can let the things go that are blocking our energy. The Sun is in Scorpio. Scorpio craves truth, passion, and depth. Scorpio highly values emotional security. The Moon is in Taurus. Taurus craves comfort, stability, and the finer things in life. Taurus highly values physical and material security. Where can we let go of our comfort zone or need for material security in order to find more emotional security and personal power?
With the Full Moon’s energy highlighting the tension between these polar energies, we are invited to look within and find the places where our emotional needs and material desires clash. This lunar phase invites us to examine the aspects of our lives where we may be holding on too tightly to habits, relationships, or beliefs that no longer serve us. The Taurus Moon asks us to reflect on the ways we cling to comfort and predictability as a means of feeling safe. However, Scorpio’s presence challenges this safety, reminding us that true transformation requires us to confront discomfort and release the need to control outcomes.
This is a time when emotions run high, as Scorpio’s deep waters pull up hidden truths and unaddressed wounds. Simultaneously, Taurus urges us to find grounding and steadiness amid this inner storm. The balance lies in recognizing that while material stability and the comforts we hold dear are essential, they must not come at the expense of our emotional well-being and authentic expression. The Full Moon provides the opportunity to evaluate what we must shed, what fears or attachments we can let go of, so that we can step into a more empowered and secure version of ourselves—one that harmonizes the passionate depth of Scorpio with the nurturing solidity of Taurus.
