How to Start Romanticizing your Life

“It’s a strange idea, isn’t it—the possibility that we can fall deeply and compassionately in love with who we are?”

What does romanticizing your life mean?

Romanizing your life means being compassionate and intentional with yourself and your time. It’s about appreciating the big and little things and in a sense wrapping them up into a little bow for pure aesthetics or pleasure.

To romanticize your life means to view it in an idealized or overly positive manner. To focus on the things you love and are grateful for in your life while not becoming anxious, stressed, or stuck in the negatives/challenges of your life. It involves imbuing your everyday experiences with a sense of wonder, beauty, and excitement, and seeing them through a rose-colored lens.

It’s the act of putting love and gratitude into every crevice of your life.

It’s realizing you are the main character of your life and you deserve all the love, joy, abundance, health, adventure, and purpose you desire.

It means knowing and accepting that good things are meant for you. It's accepting that you can trust that the Universe is rigged in your favor. If you focus on the things you don't like you will only attract more of the things you don't like. If you focus on what you do like or are grateful for, you will attract more of what you do like and more things you are grateful for.

Your life is like a movie. And you can write it and plat it out however you like. So why not use the fancy dishes, or wear the pretty dress, or bask in the sunshine just because?

Simple ways to romanticize you life:

☁️Plan a day of all of your favorite things

☁️Put your morning beverage into your prettiest cup

☁️Get rid of clothes/items that don’t make you feel happy or healthy or like yourself (this includes relationships or habits that have this effect too)

☁️Buy or pick yourself flowers (weekly!)

☁️Start a new hobby or craft you’ve been wanting to try

☁️ Take yourself on a date (to a restaurant, museum, movie, or a picnic)

☁️Envision your bath or shower cleaning your energy with golden lighten when you bathe

☁️Wear pajamas or loungewear that make you feel beautiful, especially if you’re just by yourself

☁️ Spend an afternoon or a day to just brainstorm, make art, or lay in the grass

☁️Take your time to do things and give yourself enough time to not feel rushed

☁️Be kind to yourself (and others)

☁️Don’t get caught up in a mess/mistake - envision a role model or character you admire doing the same thing, usually we’d think less of the mistake - now put yourself on that pedestal
